Hi I have an issue ripping CD's on my B2, started yesterday when it stopped half way through a CD.
Same again with next CD, stopped after 7 of 14 tracks.
Message comes up that the RIP is incomplete.
Now its not Ripping any tracks from any CD's.
In all cases , the B2 is recognising the CD's and coming up with the correct title.

I have went through settings and done a CD RESET, but now i'm getting a "No CD Mechanisim" on the home screen.

Help......

Hi Kenneth,

Power off the B2, wait a minute or so and power up again.

At the first screen after powering up does the scrolling text show 'Source: Hard Disk' or Source: SD Card'? If the latter the B2 is accessing the SD Card (where the operating software is stored) rather than the HDD/SSD (where music is stored). In this case go to the Maintenance menu and select 'Use HDD'.

If this i not the issue try doing a Web Upgrade (Settings menu).

Hi Paul

So powered off .  When it came back up source was Hard Disk.
Have subsequently done a Web upgrade as suggested, which was successful.

Tried loading 3 different CD’s since.
First one recognised the CD , Once ripping started it came up with the correct number of tracks and started ripping, got to track 3 and ejected the CD. Message on front screen "RIP incomplete” 3 tracks ripped.
2nd one recognised the CD , Once  ripping started it came up with the correct number of tracks but then after about 10 secs it ejected the CD Message on front screen "RIP incomplete” No tracks ripped but can see the artist and album on Brennan App on iPad.
3rd one, same as 2nd.

What else can I try.

Hi Kenneth,

It sounds like you have several part ripped CDs on the B2 now - these need to be deleted as they will be seen as problematic to the B2 i.e. it may be thinking there are 12 tracks but only three tracks exist.

What do the 'Stat's' show for disk usage and free space?

One other thing to try:  will your B2 play a CD all the way through without a problem?

Hi. I've had similar problems and also CDs that spin, aren't recognised and are ejected. It's a problem with "unbalanced" discs. I've found that tilting the B2 back by a couple of cms rectifies this, if not, I put the B2 on its side. The only problem with side mounting the B2 is that it fires the CDs across the floor!

I have 476 Tracks from 37 Albums but the Capacity is showing 499.93Gb used from the 500Gb.

Aha!  There's the problem.  The HDD is so full - or the system thinks it is - that it hits the limit in the middle of a rip.  First run the Cleanup command (Maintenance menu) and then run Scan Disk (Settings menu).  Then check the stats again.  Please let us know.

Hi Kenneth,

Have you run 'Scan Disk' recently?  Your B2 stats are somewhat suspect, because the B2 disk appears to have run out of free space which is unlikely as you have 476 tracks/ 37 albums.  The 'Scan Disk' should rebuild the stats data. The problem might be that the B2 'thinks' that it has run out of disk space to complete the ripping process.

As a very approximate guide, if you are storing tracks in 'flac' format, your used disk space should be something like 15GB used.

Regards,
Peter.

Ran Cleanup and then scan disk as suggested.  Now back to normal.  Thanks to all for help and suggestions.

Hi Kenneth,

Running 'Free Space' from the Maintenance menu will give a more accurate disk stat's figure - takes a few minutes to run.
