Not sure if this questions has been answered before. I have ripped a number of compilations CDs which the CDDB has assigned to either 'Various' or 'Various Artists'. (For simplicity, I have renamed the latter so that all come under 'Various"). However, I now have come up against a problem which I cannot solve. I recently purchased a 3 album Dolly Parton collection. The first 2 CDs were correctly assigned the artist name of Dolly Parton by the CDDB, but for some strange reason the third CD came up as 'Various'. So now I cannot see a way to re-assign this disc to Dolly Parton without also re-assigning ALL the other 'Various' CDs as to her! Any clever ideas on how I might do this would be appreciated.

This is a great example of where NAS would be of great convenience.  When your B2 has its hard drive setup to be viewed as NAS, you can drag and drop files just like you would with any other disk connected to your computer.

David, I may be missing something here.

Can you not find the CD/album miss assigned in under "Various". In the right-hand side window under "Various", double click on the offending album and a Rename album and artist box should open up. This should allow you to change the artist from "Various" to "Dolly Parton" and save it. Name to whatever the first 2 CDs were called.

Sorry if I'm totally off the mark here, but hopefully this helps.

Thanks Daniel & Leslie for both solutions. Setting up my hard drive as a NAS is clearly worthwhile and something I will do for all sorts of reason. However, as a quick solution - and a very useful facility - your suggestion, Leslie, worked perfectly! I had not realised that double clicking on an album would allow renaming of just that album. So, problem solved! Really grateful for both suggestions.

Also clicking on the 3 dots to the RHS of any artists, albums or tracks opens a box with different options.

With multiple CD sets i do the ripping on the PC and add all the songs from  disc 2 and 3 etc to disk 1  , then  you have just one "CD"
You  have  all the songs in one place  rather than spread around 3 separate albums   ..
