B2 Popping and banging!

When i turn on my B2 from Cold, I sometimes get a lot of popping, mainly from the left speaker, but if i disconnect this, it still comes from the right one a bit. It does this on internet radio, and on HDD, even with the ethernet disconnected. I am running the latest NOV software. A small video i made will not attach!. Any ideas?

Also, when uploading files from my PC the noise also comes through the speaker on the B2, if it is playing!

Hi J,

One item to look out for is that if you are using the B2 speaker output sockets and if you are using metal plugs, there is a possibility that the metal plugs can touch and short circuit each other.  The cure for that is to cut little squares of thin plastic and insert these between each of the plugs in order to provide insulation.

Something like the plastic lid of a margarine container will do the job when cut up appropriately.

No, they're plastic plugs Peter. I have seen this fix before, but doesn't apply here i'm afraid! Can I post the video with sound some other way, says its too large 9 mb.....?!

Hi J,

It was just a thought!  WRT the video, the method that I have for transferring very large files is to use 'Dropbox' (free subscription).  Dropbox has a 'public folder' facility which is just another folder on your PC.  You place your video (or other) file in this 'public folder' and then from the folder menu you create a public URL link for this video.  You then publish the URL link to whomever you want to receive the file and they can download the file.
