I have about 600 CDs loaded and compressed to FLAC about 135 of 500G used.
The last 15 WAV files wont compress.  I have power cycled it and turned off the computer UI.  Even unplugged power from it.  I also tried going to settings and selected compress now and nothing.  It never gets to the red light flashing mode.  The troubleshooting guide said to run scan disc.

Will running scan disc cause me to lose music files?

My software is  dated July 2020 so their have been several up date since then, would it hurt to update directly to the latest software version, in case that helps this problem?

I assume I could continue ripping additional CDs and let them stay in WAV format and still play those but I would lose space on the HD.  I don't think I will be ripping that many more CDs that this would cause a problem with space.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks Bob

Hi Bob

Can't say for certain that you will not lose any music but I had this experience, ran scan disc and they disappeared, it seems that sometimes they get compressed but the software still has them listed. It then unlocked my capability to rip and compress files. I did not appear to have lost any music

Hi Bob,

Brian W is saying that the WAV files disappeared after running Scan Disk - not all of his music!

Scan Disk rebuilds the internal database the B2 uses to locate and play music and is non-destructive.

Try that and let us know if the WAV files are still shown.

I wouldn't add any more CDs until this issue is sorted (as it will complicate trying to locate the problem).

Brian and Paul,
You are so right, scan disc fixed it in 10 seconds.  It appears that those 15 files marked WAV were already compressed to Flac but still had the WAV tag.
Thanks a bunch, you guys are great.
