I am experiencing problems loading audio books purchased from Audible on to me B2.

They seem to be in a format neither I or B2 recognise.

Any help much appreciated.

Hi Ian,

The following is from an Audible website...

"Can I convert my Audible audiobooks into MP3 files?

Unfortunately, Audible audio files cannot be converted into MP3 or any other file format. The reason for this is because we utilize security technologies to protect the intellectual property rights of our content providers and authors. Additionally, they help us to provide a superior listening experience that you won't find anywhere else!

Audible is able to offer an award-winning service that is DRM-free for publishers who prefer this method and are committed to working with Audible to maintain this one of a kind customer experience. In order to best support this commitment, DRM-free titles are supported within the Audible platform using Audible file formats - either .aa or .aax."

The B2 can play mp3, flac, wav and aac.

It seems that Audible is choosing a proprietary format, probably to prevent copying!

To be able to load these files onto a computer, play them on an external CD player and run the analog output into your computer to be re-digitized as WAV files.  Then they can be converted to either FLAC or MP3.  There will be some degradation of audio quality, but with this type of audio, that shouldn't be a significant problem, an possibly won't even be noticed.

Here's a suggestion.

Get an Amazon Echo. Connect it to B2 via Bluetooth, go into Bluetooth mode and access via alexa.amazon.com."
Works with Spotify and a host of other services. Alexa can even read Kindle books.

Hi Ian,

Just to clarify the B2 will only play WAV, FLAC, MP3, AAC/ALAC. If your audio books are in a different format the B2 will not play them.
