I have a large collection of music on an external hard drive.  I would like to load some but not all of it onto my Brennan 2.  Is that possible?  The reason that I don't want to load it all is that I have already ripped all the CDs to the Brennan.  Now I want to selectively load what is not already on the Brennan.

Is it possible to do this?

Simply go to Maintenance, Start NAS and enable the NAS on the unit.   You should hard wire it first though.   Then plug your USB HDD into your PC.   Using File Explorer in Windows, copy over the music you want to the B2.  It's a s easy as that!

You can try it all wireless, but hardwired ethernet is always going to be more reliable.     I have found it to be more stable to have both my computer and B2 hardwired ethernet on the same network switch.

Also you have not told us the file structure on your external hard drive.
Before you move it to the B2 (as advised above by David) you do need to make sure the music you are moving is in the correct folder structure

AND within each Album the track names must START with a number denoting the order in which they appear on the CD (or you want them to be) ie
01 song one
02 song two
......
12 Song twelve

The "Song .." can be the text of the title of the Track.
here is my Adele 25 Album as an example

It is allowed, but optional, to have the Artist name in the song title as well.  Like this:  "01 Beatles - A Hard Day's Night"
Actually, you can call the song most anything you want, but with a limit of 170 characters.  And if you want the songs played in your desired order, you must prefix the song name with the track number.

Just remember, after you make changes on your B2 via NAS you need to run Settings - Scan Disk from the front panel to update the B2, before it will know about them.
