Recently purchased and downloaded some digital (mp3) albums by a band I liked from Bandcamp.com. The albums downloaded as a zip folder for each album, with each track having the Band name, Album name and Track name. There was also coverart. I arranged the music into the Artist, Album and Tracks format suitable for the B2 on my laptop and transferred them to the B2 using NAS. I then ran Scan Disk. I typed the band name into search and up came the albums in the top RH side box of the UI under the Artist. The RH side bottom box showed the tracks and artwork of the albums in the list above. I selected a track to play which played fine, but although the artwork was displayed at the bottom RH side it was not shown in the playing now box. Screenshot attached. I re-ran Scan Disk. No joy. Checked back on my PC and the coverart jpeg was 1400 x 1400, and artwork downloaded via the B2 site are usually 500 x 500. I wondered whether the resolution was too high, so I used Musicbrainz to select a 500 x 500 image. Checked back on PC NAS drive and could see the Musicbrainz coverart and the original art files. I deleted the original bigger file, re-ran Scan Disk and tried playing the tracks again. Still no art image in now playing box. Tried playing the 4 albums downloaded from Bandcamp which had the higher resolution coverart, which I have now replaced with Musicbrainz versions and they are all the same. Play fine with all the correct info in the now playing box minus the coverart that is there in the RH side album box. No big deal really as the info is there and the art is there on the RH side, but wondered if anyone can come up with any suggestions as to a solution to the problem?

I have had similar problems with album art occasionally not displaying correctly (most of the time it displays as I would expect) I often find that hitting the reload button on the browser gets it to work. Certain the image size has never been a problem.

Update. Decided to delete one of the offending albums and reload it without the artwork, and get it direct from Musicbrainz on the B2.
Deleted album via UI.
Ran Scan.
Checked for album on UI - Gone.
Checked mapped B2 using NAS on Laptop - Gone.
Reloaded the Album minus artwork via NAS from laptop.
Checked B2 drive via NAS on laptop - Album back minus artwork.
Checked UI - Not there.
Ran Scan.
Checked UI again - Album back with no artwork in album box.
Musicbrainz search found 500 x 500 coverart image.
Loaded it - Album cover image in Album box.
Selected 1st track, audio played fine - but no coverart image seen in now playing box.

No further forward, Even ripped another CD on the laptop and transferred it via NAS to B2 and it showed coverart in both boxes. Go figure. Thought it was something to do with JPEG size as the images from Bandcamp.com downloads are higher resolution. MBs as opposed to KBs, but having loaded an album without coverart and getting it via the B2 sort of scuppers that idea. Has only happened with the music downloaded via Bandcamp.com and the coverart is shown in one box, but not the other. Not life threatening. Just a little frustrating.

I also find the album cover loaded onto the bottom right Album box seldom seems to appear immediately in the Now Playing box. But it eventually does appear when you
select that particular album some hours later.

One of the endearing quIrks of the B2 ....... along with an inability to arrange 30 Playlists in alphabetical order as you can within the Playlist itself. Not life threatening, as
you say and a small inconvenience for an amazing music machine in constant development.

As you say Iain, it's a brilliant music machine and lets you easily access your music collection, but it does have wee quirks. Not affecting audio play so can live with it. I would get the odd hiccup with other album art work in the now playing window, but other albums except these 5 digital downloads usually right themselves. Not these 5. Curious.

Tried Daniel's advice to valebe in another post about artwork not showing up on his infotainment system. Although my problem is on the B2 I thought I'd give it a go.

In one of the offending albums on NAS I deleted the coverart.

Ran Scan Disc and confirmed on both the UI and NAS that the artwork had gone.

Replaced it with one from another album I know the coverart is displayed, again via NAS.

Ran Scan Disc again and checked the UI.

New art work showed in the RH Album window ok and the track played fine, but again no show in the Now Playing window.

Time to try something else.  All the offending albums were downloaded from Bandcamp. I had downloaded them as mp3 and they came as a zip folder of the album containing the tracks and the coverart. Unzipped by dragging and dropping into a new album folder. I put that into an Artist folder and the then transferred that folder via NAS to the B2. Everything worked fine except for the coverart not showing in the Now Playing window.

Bandcamp give you a choice of formats you can download, so I thought I'd delete the offending albums and re-download as better quality FLAC, but this time I decided to discard their higher resolution coverart and get it manually.

Used NAS to delete the albums from the B2.

Ran Scan Disc and confirmed on both NAS and UI that they were gone.

Next downloaded the albums from Bandcamp as FLAC.

Opened Album Zip folder and dragged and dropped the FLAC tracks to a new album folder. Left the coverart file in the zip folder.

Went back to the Bandcamp web page and managed to capture a lower resolution image of the album coverart, and saved it to my desktop as a jpeg.

Moved this jpeg into the new album folder and put the album folder into an Artist folder.

Using NAS transferred the artist folder to the B2 drive. Ran Scan Disc. Crossed my fingers and checked the UI. Eureka! Coverart in both windows as it'ssupposed the be, and the tracks play too.

Can't say for sure what was blocking the the coverart showing in the Now Playing window, but a complete album removal from the B2, an album re-download from Bandcamp replacing their the high res coverart with a lower res image before transferring to the B2 seems to have done the trick. A lot of mucking about, but I'll know what to do in future. Also I upgraded the albums to FLAC. Don't think that has anything to do with it, but I should have gone for FLAC first time round. Happy Bunny now. Don't know if the original High res coverart had triggered something on the B2 that the deletion of it and replacing it with lower res image within the album wouldn't allow. Took the deletion of the whole album and replacing it with the new one, with the lower res coverart already in place. Anyway, sorted. Phew!

Well done, Leslie.  And that's some great information which the Brennan folks might make use of.

If there is an upper limit on the size of a jpg file for the B2, it would be nice if Brennan would publish that.  Could save a lot of gnashing of teeth in the future.

Also, there still is the unanswered question as to whether there is some difference in jpg format that some cars (and possibly the B2) are not happy with.
