Just added a large Mp3 track to an existing Mp3 album and noticed that the B2 front panel display fails to display the 'track time to go'. The track number, number of tracks and file type (Mp3) are displayed ok.

The track time to go is present for all other files, including those added to the same album at the same time as the track above. The browser interface is ok with played and remaining times displayed ok.

The anomalous Mp3 track is an 81.5 Mb file - (35m30s track play time, Emerson Lake & Palmer - Pictures at an Exhibition).

The previously longest Mp3 file was 49 Mb (26m18s). The B2 panel displays time to go correctly for this file.

Rebooting the B2 does not resolve this. As the desktop browser shows the correct data, it appears to be a B2 panel display software problem.

Can anyone confirm this for large files. Software version B2 22 March 2021

Hi Keith G,

So if I'm reading your post correctly this issue is limited to the display on the B2.

My first guess is the size of the file but I would need to run this by Martin B.

How did you load the MP3 track?

Does the track play OK?

Hi Paul,
The track plays OK and the discrepancy is limited to the B2 front panel display.
The track was loaded by my usual method. (i.e. jb7 process)
The file was copied from the PC to the B2 Backup drive and added to an existing album.
Then Restore from USB was used to scan the disc and copy the new tracks to the B2 (as this is incremental)
I agree that looks like a file size/play time calculation error as the time to go is just omitted, no corruption, no blank spaces.

Further testing reveals many more mp3 tracks where this problem occurs.

I've 'skipped' through two mp3 albums containing 60 downloaded tracks. The B2 panel display only indicates the track 'time to go' for 60% of the tracks. The rest just indicate 'xx/yy MP3', where xx = track number and yy = track count for the album. The web UI shows the correct information.

observations:
All tracks play OK.
Repeatable - same track 'time to go' is missing when album re-played or after a power down.
A track length as short as 2m36s fails, so no association with file length.
Deleting the album and recovering from backup exhibits the same problem.
When the tracks are copied to a new album compilation, the problem remains with the track.

It appears that the time taken to calculate the track length for the B2 panel display is timed out before completion for some files, and becomes locked out once the data line starts scrolling.

All tests carried out with segue off.
