JB7 - looking for JB7.zip Update File

Hi All,

I have just bought a JB7 off eBay and am trying to locate a copy of the 'JB7.zip' hex file that contains the O/S upgrade data for this device.

So far, no luck. If any of you does have a copy and is willing to share it would you let me know here please?

Also, is there any known method for creating a new HDD i.e. an equivalent to 're-flashing' the SD card in the B2. A 'bit copy' using a disk partitioning tool might work, but it would be good to know if any alternatives are available.

I have purchased the JB7 to do some testing mainly, so I like to have a 'recovery plan' in case of something going wrong!

Hi Peter,

I think I have the HEX files somewhere - will have a look - there were only ever two versions, the later one being V1.1 (if I remember correctly) so you may already have that version.

Concerning configuring the HDD it's not something I know anything about. Jon at AudioTech may be able to help.

Hi Paul,

If you could find the HEX files that would be great for me. The only information that I have found so far is that the software version is 'v2190'. The unit is a later model with a 320GB HDD and has the power switch on the back and I think that it was manufactured in late 2011 or 2012.

On the HDD query, thanks; I'll contact Jon once I have got familiar with the JB7.

The JB7 just arrived about 30 minutes ago. When I unpacked it I heard a rattle from inside the unit, so I opened it up ans found a screw lying inside it! I cannot find where it came from so I have removed it. I've now got a 'Backup Music' running. As I had already deduced this process is very slow; but I'll be able to get real timings now.
