Like some others in this forum, I have about 25% of my music collection ripped as WMA lossless. I know I can convert those to MP3, but I would have preferred to be able to play them as is.

This is the only music player I have encountered that cannot decode WMA files. Even those $16 pocket players can decode and play WMA, Ogg, and just about any other format possible.

Why can't the B2 play WMA files?

Can that be added, even at an extra cost if there's a licensing issue?

Hi Mitch,

You could convert the WMA files to FLAC - that way you do not loose any audio quality.

Even Microsoft has decided that WMA is an obsolete and no longer supported format. FLAC is an open standard and will not reduce the quality of the files.

And, by the way, while "those $16 pocket players" might play WMA and OGG, Apple's products don't. WMA is far from universal.
