Hi. Can anyone assist? Just purchased a B2 and finding I cannot transfer my Itunes to the unit.

I've bought a Scandisk USB stick 128GB  (3.0) and taken 5 hours to load my Itunes folder onto it (114GB). When I plug into the USB (C socket) nothing happens. I tried swapping it and using the A socket but no joy there either.  What am I doing wrong and what do i need to do now?

I'm not a computer whizz kid, so a simplistic explanation and directions would be appreciated.

I've ripped a CD directly on and that works OK.

Hi Bladesman,

Is the USB correctly formatted for the B2? See  https://www.brennan.co.uk/itemcontent.php/content/MusicTransfer

Hi Steve.

In answer to your question. I have no idea?  I simply bought the USB 128GB 3.0 flash drive. Assuming you can see the attachments I have  added.

I loaded all of the Itunes folder,  (see attached Capture png), which in hindsight is probably too much. Should it just be I tunes Media?

Then Capture 2  'Music' and then capture 3 which shows part of my Artist list file.

Where would I find if its formatted correctly?

Hi Bladesman,

I think from your screen shots, that you're using Windows, if so, the format can be read by following the initial steps on website  https://www.maketecheasier.com/format-usb-drives-windows-10/. Do not press the "Start" button (unless you have first created another local copy or are prepared for five hours...), this will do the format and remove all data!

If the drive is not "FAT32" (or "FAT16") then to work with a Brennan device it will have to be re-formatted.

In frustration I cleared what I put on in order to start again. So what ever happens It will be five hours again at some point. :)

When I look on the format it shows exFat as default and an alternative of NTFS.

It is Windows 10 as you suggested. Will I still be able to reformat to FAT32? Obviously I cannot use NTFS.

Hi

Sorry that all that time has gone.

I suggest that you use the B2 to format the memory device.

Press/hold B2 STOP button until "SAVING" appears and then changes to Clock display.
  Turn off power.
  Wait 30 seconds.
Insert the memory device into USB port A (or C)
  Turn on power.
Wait for B2 to finish booting up.
Menu > Settings > Maintenance > Format USB A   (or Format USB C)

If formatting is working correctly the display will briefly say "Partitioning", followed by "Formatting" which should stay on screen for 10 to 20 seconds and upto 1-2 minutes.
If the display briefly says "Partitioning" and "Formatting", then try again the menu step again.

Press/hold STOP button until SAVING appears and then changes to Clock display.
  Turn off power.
  Wait 30 seconds.
Remove the memory device from USB port.

Load music files onto the memory device ...

Hi Bladesman,

Steve's advice and instructions are spot on. One thing to note - after formatting the USB stick using the B2, when you plug the stick into your computer you will get a warning message. Use 'continue without scanning' and then copy your iTunes music to the stick.

Ideally the music to be copied to the stick will be organised as Artist - Album - Track/s. At the top level i.e. when you view the contents of the stick on your computer, a folder named after the Artist containing a folder named after the Album containing the Tracks. You can have multiple Artist/Album/Track folders on the stick.

Plug the stick into the B2 and use 'Import USB C' (USB menu).
