My recently acquired Brennan 2 keeps cutting out. Thirty or so seconds into the music, or when I try to put the volume up beyond 37, whichever is the sooner,  nothing. The track is still being shown but I’m hearing nothing.
There is a lot of play in the banana plugs but beyond that I have no idea what to do next.
Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Since you mention the banana plugs I assume you are using speakers connected to the output of the internal amp. If the plugs are loose, or have metal sleeves, it can be quite easy for them to touch, which will short the amplifier output. Also there is a thermal cutout that can trip if too much current is being drawn.

Try putting a thin piece of cardboard between the banana plugs -- there are four plugs so there should be three "betweens" needing to be kept apart.

Hi Billtu...,

There should be no play in the banana plugs - is it the plugs going into the sockets or the sockets on the back of the B2 that are loose?

Hi Billtu,

Have the banana plugs got metal bodies/surrounds - they may be touching?

If that's not the case try running Scan Disk from the Settings menu.
