I have a drive with 1.5TB Applelossless(ALAC) CDS.  Would these transfer over to the B2 which is FLAC easily so that I wouldn't have to reload all those  CDS and rip them on to the B2 from scratch. This may be a stupid question but I am a novice here and would very much like to use the B2   for music CDs and get them transferred over in an easy fashion
Thank you Hugh

Does B2 play ALAC
Yes - the B2 will play WAV, FLAC, MP3, AAC and ALAC.

The collection would need to be written to a USB device which was first formatted to FAT32 using the B2 to do this.
The collection would need to be written to the USB device in a directory format that matches this
Top level
music
Next level
        Artist 1
Next level
                   CD 1
Next
All the music files for that CD and a file of cover art.
                  CD 2
Next
All the music files for that CD...
etc
      Artist 2
              CD 1
All the music files for that CD...
etc.

The B2 can then import your music using its USB functions.

Hi Hugh,

Might be worth trying with a single CD first to check the organisation that Fred outlined. You could use a USB memory stick for this.

Thank you all for your help and suggestions. This sounds somewhat complex whichever way one does it. Reripping CDs or manipulating the Hard drive I have. Will keep you posted on progress
