Hi everyone, 'New boy to the forum here, (well old one actually).
I have just created a Backup disk because the B2 previously appeared to go into meltdown & wiping ALL contents from the internal 2Tb disk without prompting when I previously set it to 'Export' the contents (86K tracks and artwork !!). Having now re imported this, I felt that I should have a second fall back by using another Portable Hard Disk but this time I applied the 'Backup' option. All appeared okay until this morning having added some new music, I thought it best to add this to the Backup, all appeared to go well & I monitored the display which clearly picked up these new additions HOWEVER upon completion the internal disk was AGAIN 'BLANK' !
I did wonder why both Green & Red LED's were flashing simultaneously during the last operation. Any suggestions would be well appreciated team.

Thanks for any input
Mike

Hello Michael

I know its been a while since you posted but I thought I'd comment.

Red and Green flashing means the whole system has restarted - like after a power on.

If it stays like that it means the Raspberry Pi hasn't started - and that can be a hardware fault - we typically suggest replacing the SD card first because that often works and its easy.

In your case because you had an external hard disk attached it may be to do with the power consumption by the external disk - so take that out as a first step.

What I would also like to say is that "wiping the hard disk" doesn't happen.

I mean even when owners have formatted the internal hard disk - we have recovered the music.

There are many faults that could make the music inaccessible and require our intervention - but unless the disk breaks down the music is still there.
