I have 4 Vtuner stations in my presets, all 24-7 Niche Radio, which have been working well, today there is nothing on them even though if I listen to them on radio.net they are playing fine. Anyone have any idea?

Hi Mike,

If you search for the stations using vTuner on the B2 can they be found and do they play OK? If they do try saving them into presets again as the URL address may have changed.

Hi Paul, they can be found on vtuner but when you select them nothing plays but the station icon appears in the now playing window.

The stations are all  24-7 Niche Radio  **** and have been happily playing for at least 3 months.

If I use the radio.net app on my phone and find the 24-7 stations they work fine. A bit confusing

All other presets work fine.

Regards
Mike

For me it's Magic Radio not working ,All other pre sets are OK .You can find the listing on vtuner but reloading does not help. vtuner seem to be having problems with some stations.

Hi Mike,

24-7 Niche Radio will not play on my B2 either. I did find this on Facebook however -

You May Need To Retune.

In the last couple of mouths we have been building a new server wherever
possible we have tried to do this without interruption to service.
There may be odd circumstances where listeners may lose their service on the
28 th of February 2018. To remedy this problem some listeners may need to
change the URL they are using, new URLs can be found at
http://24-7nicheradio.com/index.php/url/
Or reconnect to our Audio Gallery at
http://24-7nicheradio.com/index.php/audio- gallery-stations/
You will still be able to find us on our website http://24-7nicheradio.com/and
Facebook.
Once again we apologise for any inconvenience.

I'll check with Martin if this could be causing a problem on the B2.

Hi Brian,

I searched Magic on my B2 and two stations called Magic Radio were listed. Both played OK, showed the same logo but weirdly each played different music.

Hi Paul, thanks for the info, I have received a reply from Michael Bolton (yes really!) at  vtuner asking if the problem still exists, I have copied him the facebook statement in your post.

I'm not sure what the process is for vtuner to keep updated on url changes but it's obviously not working in this case.

I think that they may rely on contact such as this to deal with change issues.

Thanks
Mike

I seem to have solved my Magic problems

First I tried reloading the Magic channels showing on vtuner.... Without success none worked

Next I tried Searching for ''Magic'' This produced a list of about 12 stations many of which were duplicated, some more than once. None of these worked

I then tried Settings> Radio Update on the Brennan front panel. This reduced the number of Magic stations to 5 none of which were duplicated. Sadly none of these worked. Dejected I went to make a drink , leaving the B2 on the latest Magic station with the display showing Internet radio waiting for data 0% After 3 to 4 Minutes the radio burst into life and continued playing!. I repeated this action with all the remaining Magic stations and in each case the station had to be selected for at least 2/3 minutes before anything loaded. Every time the display read Internet radio waiting for data 0% up to the moment it worked.

I don't know if updating the Radiofeeds database had any result or if you simply have to wait a long time for the station to load but if anyone else has the same issue it is worth trying the above.

Thanks Brian, I did try your suggestion but unfortunately it doesn't work for the stations I'm having problems with.

I think it come down to the fact that the broadcaster has changed the urls of the services and these are not reflected in vtuner.

I have sent the info to vtuner but not heard back from them yet, I think that the only way that the vtuner team know of a problem is when someone highlights it in a case like this.

Will update once I hear back from them

Hi Mike,

It seems URLs change more often than one would expect so if a IR station ceases to play it is worth checking the URL.

I noticed that Niche Radio publish their URLs on their website. Might be worth pointing vTuner to that page.

Thanks Paul, how do you re-direct vtuner to an alternative url?

Hi Mike,

Your communication with vTuner seems to have worked as I can now receive all of the Niche Radio Stations.

Hi Paul, from the email I sent on the 7th which included your info from facebook, I had a response to say that the support team would be on the case. I think that they rely on reports of stations not working from the listening community to carry out any updates.

The email address for any further problems is:

They were helpful and responsive, thanks for your help with this,

Had another email from vtuner, they suggest that in the event of a station ceasing to work, do a quick google search first, (other search engines available!) there may be

a temporary issue with the station, then if the problem continues contact them on the support email previously posted with anything which would help them track down

the problem. It seems that the issues I experienced with the 24-7 Niche Radio stations are frequently seen.

Regards
Mike
