Brennan b2 should I turn it off after use

I am a new owner of a b2 Brennan I know this has probably been asked before but what is the most common opinion regarding should I turn it off if I have been using it but I am likely to be using it again the next day or so causing wear and tear on the hard drive or keep it on all the time but take the Oled brightness down to about 4-5 to save the display.

Does anyone know if the hard drive spins down after a period of time if left in standby or set to screen saver ? sorry for all the questions but answers might also be of interest to other newer owners of B2s

Yesterday, Mark Fishman posted what I thought was a good recommendation that speaks directly to your question.  Here's a link to that thread:  Safe Power Down  His post is the 9th one.

Personally, I turn mine off when I'm done with it.  But I don't use it every day.  So I think Mark's advice is good.  And you're right about adjusting the display for standby to prolong its life.

Hi les29 - Re your display - this can be set so that it will turn off in stand-by mode in order to increase display unit life - see below advice from Paul at Brennan from an earlier posting - Cheers Russ

If you decide to leave the B2 powered it is a good idea to set 'Screensaver' - Maintenance menu (setting 16 switches off the display in standby) to prolong the life of the display (OLEDs - organic LED displays - have a limited life if run at full brightness).
