I was able to rip and compress about 9 CDs. I was able to set up Wi-Fi access to the internet, and my router assigned 192.168.1.194. I turned the juke box off for the evening, and now it will do next to nothing. It will play the music, but the menu system is all screwed up. At times I can get only the play menu, other times I can access the setup menu. I cannot reconnect to the network. When I try to scan for the wi-fi network 6 inches away from the router in a room in which four other devices all connect every time, it tries to find the network and fails every time.

At this point, the only thing this B2 does for me is to spend too many fruitless hours, getting nothing accomplished, and rising my level of stress and frustration.

Should I give up, pack the thing in the closet, and accept a bad purchase?

Well, I believe there is a warranty on it.  Something like 30 days to return it for a refund, and then a year for needed repairs.  I don't actually know for certain.  But it would be worth looking into.

On the other hand, if you're willing to spend some time, there are very knowledgeable folks here that are willing to try and help.  Most of them post early in the morning.

If the B2 is literally only a few inches from the router, try moving it a few feet away.

You could also connect it by Ethernet cable to the Router. This would eliminate any WiFi problems and tell you if the device issues are being caused by the WiFi. (Remove the WiFi dongle if you do this and note the B2 will be given a new IP number when connected by Ethernet cable).
To connect by Ethernet cable you need to remove the back of the unit, undo the top two screws on the back and pull the back out by 4cm only and you will see the Ethernet jack. Doing this does not invalidate your warranty, the B2 is supposed to be user accesable to give acess to this and the CD card slot.

Is it a router? Or do you have a mesh network, and your B2 is next to one of these, rather than the main router?
