A couple of issues with new B2

I have a new B2,. Having ripped a number of CDs there is an issue when listening to them. The B2 is playing directly to wired speakers, but around 95% of the sound is coming from one channel. Another issue is that when the volume is raised to around '40' the sound cuts out altogether. You then have to stop the playback, reduce the volume, and restart. Any ideas very welcome. Thanks

First thing is to check that there are not any stray strands of wire around the banana plug connections that might be touching where they should not.  And if the jackets of the banana plugs are metal, make sure that they don't touch each other.  People have found success my sliding a piece of cardboard between them.

The first set of banana plugs I tried were too fat and I experienced similar problems.  First I solved them by wedging thin cardboard between the plugs, but then I got skinnier plugs.  Try the cardboard kludge first, and if that fixes it, you know the problem.

I'm trying to remember if I wrapped the second set in electrical tape even though they were skinnier.  Something to think about if you wear both belt and suspenders.

Could you try somethings for me please?

1) Check that you do not have the Graphic equaliser turned on (you may not have even loaded it - if so go to 2). If it is turn it off (does that cure the problem?) if not then :-

2) Plug a set of headphones into the line out socket at the back of the B2 and confirm that when listening through these the volume in each ear is the same.

3) If the volume on the headset is the same in each ear, and assuming the plugs to the speakers are not shorting, could you swap the Speaker plugs over and see if the quiet speaker swaps with the plugs or remains on the same plug pair.
