Alphabetically correct list

A perpetual annoyance is when assigning a rip to a category, the category is not listed in alpha order, but in an order that seems totally random.  Can this be changed, improved upon ?

Something else: althougn I create one category for each "mode", sometimes a duplicate categrory with the same or different count emerges... why ?
