Hello, old time user but rarely on the forum, hoping for some assistance.

I have the very early B2 model with no HDD inside (the SD card sticks out of the side)
I updated the software yesterday to March 24th 2025.

I'd like to finally move over to using an  external drive and thought it would be a cinch ... it wasn't!

I seem to have two problems.

The first one is that there is no option I can find in the menu to force the Brennan to look at the USB as the source. It IS mounted. It tells me so, but it steadfastedly keeps looking at the SD card as the source for music.

No problem, I thought. I'll just remove the SD card, partition and flash the external drive, re-load the music. Job done.

Not so fast, because I use a Mac and it seems that Balena Etcha overwrites any partition I create, so I am totally stuck (and  Idon't even know if this plan would work anyway!)

Any ideas or help for an old tech-luddite ?
Much appreciate any thoughts.

Marcus

If you have the sd card only version   you will need an internal upgrade to use a hard disc drive for ripping

You can use a usb drive for playback   but there are limitations

Hi Mark here the only option is to put stuff on external drive through back up  c drive and then play that way i think not a 100 percent sure.
