I normally upload music tracks from my laptop wirelessly to my B2 successfully. But now the B2 indicates on my laptop screen that it is uploading tracks but in fact it is not doing so. I always keep an eye on the often changing ip address of my router. I can still select tracks via my laptop and play them via the B2 and its speakers. I have 500 albums stored and over 7,000 tracks. Is the memory full?

Hi Malcolm, click on the Settings and Staus cog in the top left-hand window of the Web UI.  This should display the Capacity of your B2 HD and also the amount of space used.

Thankyou, Lesley, for your extremely rapid response! I'll try it and let you know how I get on.

Leslie, I tried your suggestion but could not find out the capacity of my B2. I'm probably doing something silly. However, as I stated previously, I have 500 albums on the B2, which I believe to be only about 10% of its advertised capacity. So the problem still exists. Occasionally, when I'm tying to upload more than 1 track, the B2 will store the first track and the album/artist details, but will not store any following tracks of that album. In other words, If I'm uploading say 10 tracks, then the B2 might condescend to store the first track only. Does the B2 HD need some attention do you think?

From the web UI accessed from IP address
Select settings or press the cog and details will display

Run a scan disc to see if this changes

Also from the b2. Reboot and ensure source is hard disc

Then try settings maintenance free space then view settings again in web UI

Another way to see the B2 capacity is to use the remote. Press info button on the remote and the info is displayed on the front of the  B2 unit. The 3rd line shows the Capacity and space used.
Are you using the B2's UI upload facility or NAS to transfer the albums?
What format are you transferring WAV, FLAC or mp3s?
Were all the albums on your B2 loaded this way? Has this just started happening and was working fine for you before?
The more info you can give about the problem the more likely some of the forum members may come up with a solution

Hi Malcolm,

When the upload fails do you then delete the album and it's track?

If an album doesn't fully upload does running Scan Disk make any difference to the number of tracks displayed?

Have you checked the WiFi signal at the B2 recently - Maintenance menu > WiFi Strength - it needs to be at least -60dBm (-50dBm being better and -70dBm being worse)?

From your screenshot it appears you have the backup (or another) HDD plugged into the B2 - USB 11105 tracks.... - have you tried uploading with this disconnected? Also do you have the B2 playing anything - HDD or radio - during the upload?

Paul, I think that was John Henrick's screenshot showing Malcolm where to get access to info on HD capacity and disc space used.

Many thanks to John and Leslie and Paul. This is all good stuff. Paul, When the upload fails I do NOT then delete the album and track. Should I do so? What is Scan Disc? How do I run Scan Disk? I continually check the WiFi signal. John and Leslie: I'll check the capacity using your welcome directions.

Hi Leslie and John. Please see attached screenshot. As you will see, there is no clue as to capacity in there, unless I've gone blind.

Malcolm,
The Scan Disk command is third from the top in the center column of your screen shot.

It is very strange to me that your screen shot does not show the capacity stats. I have briefly checked your previous posts in this thread and I do not see what version of software you have.  Perhaps your software is old enough that it pre-dates the time when the capacity stats were added (I don't know).  What version of software do you have?

As I look further down the display, it looks like you may be in Guest Mode.  Maybe that's why the capacity stats aren't visible.  (?)

When you look at the info that scrolls up on the front panel display, does it say "Source: Hard Disk" or "Souce: SD card"?

See what you mean Malcolm. Never seen that before. Did you try the info button on the remote to see what shows on the B2 unit display?
How long have you had your B2 and have you ever updated the software? Asking as your screenshot of the UI show the wiggly line which doesn't show anymore on mine. Having said that in your settings the info on Software version HD capacity and file info is all missing.
Just seen Daniel has pointed out where the Scan Disk button is for you.
Don't think the guest mode should affect the stats, and the screenshot shows Source as Hard Disk paused. So it should be reading from the Hard Drive ok.
Make sure the B2 is doing nothing else and run the Scan Disk.
Once selected you can see the file numbers being scanned changing quickly near the bottom of the Settings & Status box where it says "Idle" before you start. Once completed it will return to saying "Idle" again. Close the settings box and re-open it again and see if the software version and file stats are there. The scan disk is supposed to update your music library if any changes are made.
See how that goes.

Hello, Daniel, thanks for your message. I've selected the Scandisk command but nothing seems to happen. I can't seem to get out of Guest Mode and I don't know why I'm in there anyway. The info' says Source: Hard Drive. How do I find out what software I've got?

I think there's a way to see your software version on the main display by pressing the Info button on the remote.  Each successive press brings up the next set of info.  I've never done that, but I'm pretty sure it's explained on the Brennan website.

OK Chaps, I've finally followed your advice and used the remote to access the B2 Info. It tells me that the capacity is 2000.00 G and that I have used 227 G. So I don't have a capacity problem. Daniel, the ip address just slipped for a moment but now I've got it back and Scandisk is working.

PS  My software version appears to be 9 Oct 2018. Does that sound right?

Result!!! Well done, Chaps, One and All! Many, many thanks for your patience and time in guiding me through the maze. I think it just needed me to run Scandisk. 'Bye for now, Malcolm.

Glad it's all working I would recommend doing a web upgrade to latest software and put the B2 into standby mode overnight and let it compress all the wav files into flac files

Hi Malcolm,

On your computer close the web UI page > open a new page > 'clear browser data' and 'cached images and files' > type the B2's IP Address in manually - does the Ui page open OK - do you see the stat's when you open the Settings menu (click on the COG icon)?

What WiFi signal level are seeing?

Try doing a Web Upgrade and then do an upload - try with one album first.

I suggested deleting any incomplete uploads as the files may be corrupted.
