It seems to be taking an eternity ….a WAV album of about 14 tracks so how long roughly should this take ?

Ps thanks for help on my recent posts …for some reason although signed in I couldn’t post a thank you reply.

Hi,

depends on how you define "Eternity" :)

Several factors in play

The length (therefore size) and number of the tracks being uploaded
The speed of your connection.
If both the sending device and B2 have wired connections you get the fastest transfer.

Can you see progress ?

Is the B2 red light flashing ?
Can you see any update in the web UI ?

If not cancel and try again.

Sometimes if the Wi-Fi connection is not particularly strong the upload can hang

Oh !  Thanks for replying, it’s a good job you did as no, the Brennans red light is not flashing so I guess it’s not even made a connection. Thanks for this tip. I’ll try hard wire connection but my internet connection is good and I’m surprised it’s not worked.

Hi lectr...,

You can check the WiFi signal at the B2 - use the front control to go to Settings >> Maintenance >> WiFi Strength. It needs to be around -50dBm (-40dBm being better and -60dBm worse).

If you want to connect the Ethernet cable, check our Techy Stuff page - link - for more info and photos.

I’ve been trying for a few hours but so far getting no luck.
The Ethernet cable comes from the laptop and into the Brennan b2…I’ve tried both USB sockets.
But nothing happens.
I’ve gone into Ethernet setting on the laptop, I’ve jiggled about with various things but really I’m clueless with Ethernet connections.

BUT…..

My Wi Fi speed is good at about 27. I would have thought that with that strength I should get to upload  but it doesn’t. No flashing red light…nothing at all on the display, just the time.
Is there anything on the Brennan I need to switch in Settings  etc ? Or perhaps on the laptop?
There’s obviously a connection on wi fi with the laptop and Brennan but so far nothing will upload.
I think I’m missing something ….?

Hi,

An Ethernet cable can not go from Laptop to B2, ( well it can of cause but it will not work).
The Ethernet cable must go into your Router.

I too have found that Upload did not work. What WILL work is a NAS connection.

If you can plug one end of the Ethernet into the B2 and the other into the back of the router, this WILL automatically get your B2 connected to the network (you will not need and should remove the WiFi dongle). You will find your B2 has a new IP number when you connect it this way.

All of Fred's data is good. A simple way to see if you are connected is to look at the B2 display when not playing any music. It should show IP address XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX where X is a digit. Mine says Ethernet 192.168.1.47. If you don't have an IP, you are not connected. If you have a WIFI connection, replace Ethernet with WIFI. Both the wired and the WIFI connection originate at the router. Check security settings as new devices might be blocked. You would have to add them as approved in accordance with your router instructions.
