This problem occurred after a session of deleting/adding albums, and artist/album title editing. The network was then disconnected. The b2 main display indicated 'b2 240G'. Selection of 'free space' returned as 'b2 0G' on the main display (after red LED stopped flashing) and the info display indicated capacity as 0.00G and used as 0.00Gb. The scrolling display continued to indicate 'HDD, 6464 Tracks, 322 Albums, 84 Artists'. Music could be played ok. The situation was repeatable at the time and persisted when a another SD card with the same software was fitted. The usual power down and 'scan disc' did not clear this problem as the used space persistently indicated 0.00Gb.

This situation was eventually recovered by powering off 'without' the long press of the play button. The problem was then no longer repeatable.

Software version b2 22.March.2021.

Any idea's?

Hi Keith,

I have seen similar behaviour on my B2

Ignore the bit about bogus characters, that was a rabbit hole that I went down.

Hi KeithG,

Seems OK (Free Space and Scan Disk) with 1st Jun 2021 software - perhaps try a software update.

The Free Space command, as well as any other commands should not be run with the B2 doing anything else at the same time.  Never ask the B2 to do more than one thing at a time.  Apparently, this is a rule that most people have to learn the hard way - I did.

The B2 was not doing anything else at the time.
