Hi all,
On my iOS app, when I click on artist to list their albums, I get that but I also get a long list of other albums unrelated to the artist.
This happens for all artists I've tried (10 or so).
The [extra] list seems to be the same for each artist but I have checked in detail.
My wife's iPhone doesn't do this.
If I search for the artist then the list is fine.
If I switch to the web UI then the list is fine.
I've uninstalled and deleted all data then reinstalled but the problem remains.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks! m

When this happens, do you by any chance have a USB stick or disk plugged into the Brennan's USB port?  If so, the contents of the USB stick will be concatenated onto the end of the list of what's on the unit.  The icons will be sort of a gold/orange color for the USB files, whereas they are white for what's on the Brennan.

If you don't have a USB device plugged in, and your wife's iPhone is behaving OK, then this problem is not related to the B2's music holdings, but is being caused by an artifact in how your IOS app is dealing with what the B2 is sending. Uninstalling and deleting data then reinstalling it wont help! The B2 is fine.
I suspect that your IOS system my be "cashing" data to speed up things rather than "refreshing" direct from the B2 when you change "views". This can lead to strange effects.
I am not an iOS user but clearing the iOS/App cash and or deleting and reinstalling the App may cure the problem.
You could also try using the Brennan "web browser" UI and see if this is behaving as it should (just enter the B2's IP number into the browser (Safari) search bar).

Good call, Fred.  I guess I was barking up the wrong tree.

Thanks Fred and Daniel,
On iOS there's no way to just clear the cache that I could see, but per above I did try a complete uninstall and reinstall to no effect.
And per above I did try the web UI and it works fine.
I agree it's obviously something about my iOS/iPhone, probably data related, but it does seem persistent across installs which is odd.
It's not a big deal as I can use search or the web UI or one of my many other devices.
Again, thanks for the help!

Hi Matt,

The note below is the same as 'clearing cache'.  Try this and see if that clears the problem. History and cookies are cached data.

To clear your history and cookies, go to Settings > Safari, and tap Clear History and Website Data. Clearing your history, cookies and browsing data from Safari won't change your AutoFill information. To clear your cookies and keep your history, go to Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Data, then tap Remove All Website Data.

Regards,
Peter.

Thanks Peter,
I cleared the cache (history and cooked), deleted the app, rebooted the iPhone, reinstalled the app, and it's the same.
I don't think there's anything more I can do on the phone.
My phone is running iOS 15.0.2 and my wife's is running 14.8 FWIW.
cheers, m

Hi Matt,

Have you tried changing to the 'web UI' view - does it list the Artists correctly?
