Hi,
I have been trawling through the Q&A & the forum, but can't seem to find an answer.
I have a number of slightly older music players dotted around the house (Mostly Revo K2) which i used to be able to play music via my old WD NAS drive, unfortunately the NAS went to silicone heaven so I opted to replace it with a B2, which I am very pleased with.
However I cannot connect my other devices as they are PnP based & will not detect the B2, are there any plans to make the B2 PnP compatible, or is there a work around?
Any help & advice appreciated, as I like the sound quality of the K2s & I'd like to give the them a new lease of life.

Hi Rob

I think you mean UPnP, looking at the K2 instruction manual it mentions DLNA so I would make sure you have the latest software and try switching on DLNA and seeing if your K2s can now see the B2, Settings/Maintenance/DLNA.

Hi Edwyn,

Yes, I meant UPnP, getting lazy in my old age, Thanks for the reply, I've already tried that, been through the settings numerous times, just can't seem to make the B2 visible to my UPnP devices, I'll reload the updates & try again this weekend, I am reluctantly getting to the point of considering selling the B2 & going back to a NAS drive setup.

Kind regards

Robb

Hi Robb

You can check if teh NAS and DLNA are on, using the remote, press info, then the up arrow the screen will show the current status of both NAS and DLNA.

Hi Edwyn.

Thanks, they are both on, I just don't think the B2 is upnp compatible, but thanks for the advice.

Hi again,
Just to let you know, rather than the usual reboot or switching off/on I went old school, completely unplugged the B2, pressed every button on the front, went off & had a cup of tea, returned, plugged it back in & presto!!! It was suddenly visible on all the other devices?!?!?
Thanks again for all your help & advice.
Kind regards
Robb

Hi Robb,

I have also found that occasionally I have cured a similar issue with NAS by powering down and disconnecting the power suppy from my B2, and then powering up again.  Sometimes just doing a reboot doesn't fix the issue.

It's worth keeping this in mind in general.  The Brennan is a specialised computer, and computers can get themselves in a tangle, especially where networks are involved.  If that hadn't worked for me, my next step would have been to power my router down and up, which also can clear up strange behaviours on the network.

Great that you are up and running.  The Brennans are really great devices!

Regards,
Peter.
