B2 stuck on 'cd loading'

Hello all

My replacement B2 has been working fine up to now. I have ripped about 300 cds with no problems until today when I tried to rip a CD single and it stopped reading it and made w weird whurring sound. I ejected the CD okay but now the text following the clock says 'cd loading' although there isnt one in there and it wont let me insert another CD. I have tried reset CD, reboot and switching power on and off but still shows 'cd loading'. Any suggestions?

Further to this I rebooted again and cd empty showed but when I insert a cd it spits it out.....

You wrote "CD single" and that has me worried: it wasn't by any chance a 3" diameter CD, was it? Only full-sized CDs will work in a slot-loading drive.

Hi Beckyc,

Use the front control to navigate to Settings >> Maintenance >> Advanced and select 'Reset CD'. Does this help?

You could also try a 'Web Upgrade' from the Settings menu.

Thanks for the response. It is a normal sized CD.. Now this morning I have turned the B2 on the screen scrolled to CD loading (no CD inserted though) I did a rest CD which changed this to CD empty but when I load a CD it spits it straight out....... so I have tried everything suggested. Is there a fault with the CD mechanism? Thats what I am thinking now.. thoughts?

Hello Paul. My new b2b has stopped recognising or playing cds but will play those that are already compressed. The screen shows cd empty tracks 719 in 47 albums 32 artists. I have tried all suggested remedies. This morning I managed to download 2 more cds before the same problem arose. Regards Richard.

By "download" do you mean "rip" (the process of inserting a CD and copying the contents to the internal Hard Disk of the B2)?
