Steadily getting to grips with my new BB1. Brilliant bit of kit full of potential.

One immediate query.... what is the best way to link it to an external speaker. Mine are Bose sound touch.

Thanks
Ian

If you're talking about Bluetooth connectivity, I think that is yet to come, but it's on the short list.

If you're talking about wiring to speakers, that's not supported.  But you can buy a dongle that plugs into the USB port and then you can connect it to your A/V system.  There's more info on the Brennan website, and also in the forum.

Hi Ian,

Further to Daniel's reply - some external DACs (which will provide a Line Out and/or drive headphones) are listed on the BB1 User Guide page on our website.

I am poised to buy the new bb1 but having several Bluetooth speakers including Bose- JBL and Sony, I am in a total quandary. There are several references to upgrading by different authors but it is not clear whether I can ‘buy now’ and upgrade it OR buy now and be forced to buy a new version in the near (hopefully) future.
I originally bought an early JB7 only to find out that Brennan launched a Bluetooth version shortly afterwards. I could NOT upgrade the original version!
I do not want to go through this experience again.
I have to say that I think that Brennan Products are fantastic but would appreciate more clarity.

Although I can't speak for Brennan, I fully expect the BB1 to be upgradeable for Bluetooth capability whenever the corresponding software is released.

Hi David

Don't worry, the bb1 will be fully upgrade-able by over the air software, nothing extra needed, in essence it is a Raspberry Pi computer with on board WiFi and Bluetooth, run entirely by its loaded software, I have had the B2 for three years now and it is still being upgraded by software updates only.

Hopefully the bluetooth out function will be available shortly!
