I use my Brennan as a NAS to sync to my portable mp3 player. There are songs and albums that don't have artwork, which makes browsing on my portable mp3 player a little challenging at time. Would there be any problem using mp3tag to access my Brennan over the network and update the tags and album art directly over the network to the Brennan?

Thanks.

That's a great idea.  If you happen to change anything besides the tagging info, like track filename, be sure and run the Scan Disk command when you're done, so the B2 can update it's internal listing.

Well, I've tried it and it mostly works. mp3Tag will update the cover art for each track and make it visible on the Brennan web UI. What I can't figure out is how to update the cover for the album itself which doesn't seem to show on the Brennan web UI.

The cover art that Brennan displays on the WebUI is a .jpg file in the same album folder where the tracks are stored.  I've read that it should be named coverart.jpg, but I've also read that any filename with a .jpg extension will work.  coverart.jpg works for me.

Thanks for the info, Daniel. So will I have to download the album cover art jpeg manually? mp3Tag won't do it?

I don't have enough experience with mp3tag to know the answer to that.  I download all my cover art manually.  Maybe somebody else can help out with that question.

If mp3tag has found artwork for the album (or for a track, and you want to use it for the album), I think you can just rightclick on the image itself (in mp3tag) and have it "extracted" to a file in the same folder.

As long as the file extension is jpg (not jpeg) it should work fine with the B2.

That did the trick, Mark. Thank you!
