I recently purchased a B2. Is there a way to change theclock display from 24 hour format to 12 hour (am/pm) format?

Hi Bob,

Sorry the clock format is only 24H currently.

Thanks for the reply.  How do we submit B2 wish list items?

Hi Bob,

I have added this to the wish list however I do think it will be seen as a low priority.

Would also be nice to have the option for HH:MM rather than HH:MM:SS

I would also welcome a 12 hour clock (with AM/PM indicator)

Actually I like the Seconds and I’m used to the 24 hour clock so it doesn’t bother me. However I’m sure it’s an easy setting on Raspberry Pi.

Hi, I'd rather like the 12 hour option too please. There's plenty of room on the display for an AM/PM indicator. Not so bothered about the seconds.

Interestingly, I believe I'm right in saying that you can't set the Windows 7 clock in the bottom right hand corner of the desktop to 12HR format. You certainly can with Win10 and interestingly this carries across into the DOSbox when you do a folder listing using DIR /s. So a 12 HR option is definitely the way forward - Bill Gates says so!!

Actually, I'm pretty sure that most Win7 boxes in the USA default to 12-hour format. This wikihow has instructions (with pictures!) on changing back and forth:

I have Windows 7 and right now it is displaying 4:25 PM in the lower right corner.  But I don't see any way to change it.

Hi Daniel,

In Windows 7 you change the time format in the bottom right corner of the desktop by:

1.  On the bottom right desktop clock, right click.
2.  In the new window, left click on 'Adjust date/time'.
3.  In the 'Date and Time' window, click on 'Change date and time'.
4.  In the 'Date and Time Settings' window, click on 'Change calendar settings'.
5.  In the 'Time' tab, there are two parameters 'Short time' and 'Long time'
6.  Choose the 12 hour or 24 hour format as you wish from the various dropdown options.

That's it!

Regards,
Peter.

Hi Peter,
Wow, that's deep.  I had to follow your instructions exactly and had to keep referring back to them.  But I finally saw how it's done.  I hope this will help somebody else.  I'm happy to leave it as it is with the 12 hour display.

Thanks too, Peter. As Daniel says, it's not exactly intuitive, is it? The link takes actually you to Control Panel > Regions & Languages. In what way is a 12 Hr clock regional??
Having done it, it stirred a vague memory of something similar being applicable in Win98 but that was a long time ago. A 12/24 hr tick box would have been really useful. Anyway, I'm happy now.

I don't think it's particularly deep and a quick Google would have answered your question. I like 24 hour and I don't like the totally unnecessary seconds (as I've said before).

Please add my request for a 12 hour clock to the list.
