Connection to Linn DS system

I have a friend who is very pleased with his Brennan, he has the 2TB model. I was asking about his connections to see if this was a plausible solution for myself.

I already have a streamer (Linn) but if I wish to listen to a CD, I have to use software on a laptop to rip the cd to flac and obtain the meta data and then transfer this file to a NAS, which is then connected to the streamer via home plugs

Does the Brennan have an Ethernet connection , which could be connected directly into the Streamer?

The B2 does have an ethernet connection.  You can connect to your home network either by WiFi or network cable.  I don't believe that is what you'd call a direct connection to the Streamer.  But I suspect the Streamer connects to the network in the same way.

Also, the B2 can play a CD without ripping it, if you choose.  That is one of its advantages over many of the network players out there.
