Hi Martin,
I have another request for the wishlist. I'd like to set up a way of easily updating my backup of the Brennan 2's HD whenever I add new music. I was planning on ssh'ing into the Pi and using rsync via the command line to do this, but the rsync software isn't installed on the Pi. It would be great if it were included in future updates of the OS, and also the ability to download and install other packages e.g. via apt-get. Thanks for all your hard work :)
best regards,
mil

Hello Mil
I've noted your request (for rsync) but its not something that the majority of owners will want to use and there are good alternatives - like the native backup/export and then NAS.
As for apt-get - that won't work on our system - but its part of a more general question how to make B2 extendible and I am giving that some thought.

Hi Martin,
Thanks for the reply. I just looked at the B2 website and saw that the backup to external HD function only copies music not already on the backup disc - for some reason I'd assumed it did a fresh backup of the whole B2. No need for rsync with that in place! Thanks for answering my question though :)
best regards,
mil

I would also be interested in an option to enable rsync on the Brennan B2. Not that there aren't other backup mechanisms, but it'd be more convenient way to add the Brennan B2 to backups of other devices.
Thanks much,

Hi Jon,
Below is a link to a thread which describe how to implement rsync on the B2. It includes links to scripts as well.
