Am unable to create a P3 with card reader in the USB slot. Any suggestions? I get a  No USB device message. Thanks!

Hi Dr.LW,

Can you plug the card reader and the (micro)SD card into a PC or Mac and see if the device can be read there?

If the (micro)SD card can be read in the PC/ Mac then it is possible that the card reader is not compatible with the BB1.  I have seen one or two reports in this forum where changing to another brand of card reader fixed this issue.

If the (micro)SD card cannot be read on the PC/Mac then it is likely that the (micro)SD card is faulty.

As a matter of interet, is the SD card one that you have used before or did you purchase it recently?

Regards,
Peter.

Hello Peter,

Thanks for your reply! The card reader (Samsung) and card is recognized by my Mac, I even tried to load the image onto the card from the Brenan site on my computer, but no luck so far. I will keep investigating...

Hello Dr.LW,
I had problems when I tried to program a 64GB SD card for my BB1. I had a card reader/writer plugged into my PC and when I tried to write the card image I got error messages (something to the effect that the card was badly formatted if I remember correctly). In the end I just ignored the error messages and carried on anyway. Once transferred to my BB1 I did an immediate web update to make sure if there were errors they would be overwritten.
I think the errors may be connected to the fact that the image file created two drives (one for the operating system?) but that is just conjecture. Anyway, the reason for this post is to say that even if the programming process appears to have failed, to try the card in the BB1 anyway. Obviously don't refit the front cover until you have checked the card.

Hi Dr L W,

I remember reading on the Forum that one or two others had problems programming a new card, which failed at the 'Create P3' stage. They found that despite the error message, the card worked OK.

If the BB1 boots up OK with the reprogrammed card, do a Web Upgrade.
