Does anyone know if the feet on the B2 are glued on or if they pass through a hole in the base? I'm thinking of replacing them with wider and taller isolation feet. Ideally I'd like to remove the original ones intact with the option of refitting them. There may also be options to increase the height without removing them

I just looked at the feet on my B2.  Without taking it apart, I can't tell if they are glued on or fit through holes.  I think they're glued on, but I can't be sure.

The feet on my B2 are about 1/4 inch high.  I think that's enough height that I wouldn't bother raising it any higher unless and until I experienced a heat related problem.  There are no ventilation holes on the bottom, so no matter how high you might raise it, air will not be able to enter from the bottom. It's much more important to keep the top clear so that the heat can escape.

Update: I ordered some of these: http://www.audioserenity.co.uk/iso-9h/audioserenity-1-iso-9h-gel-isolation-pad/

They are self-adhesive and there was space to fit them without having to remove the original B2 feet, so I'll try them like that for now. I'd say they double the air gap underneath. I'd still like to know how the stock feet attach, if anyone knows.

This is not a response to any sort of problem with the B2, just a precaution to increase ventilation before I partially enclose it in a rack. I'm also keen to explore isolation feet, maybe also spikes and plinths, to see if there's any improvement in audio quality. I have a healthy scepticism about what I read in the audiophile press, but there's some attraction in the theory that most things electrical create vibration, so if you can dissipate the internal, whilst minimising external vibration coming in from other devices, it can only be a good thing.

Hi Davywhizz,

Thanks for this. My b2 tends to vibrate sometimes when ripping a CD and I have resorted to packing it higher using foam plastic strips. This solution looks much more elegant so I've ordered some.

My b2 has no ventilation holes underneath so am not sure if this will help with cooling but it should rip a bit more quietly.

As you've got a specific vibration in mind, maybe experiment with the pads dry before you glue them on.
