I know CDs are stereo but will the Brennan B2 play through a Denon AVR X6300 (3D) (hard wired)10 speaker surround system also is it possible to connect to bluetooth headphones.
Please don't suggest (as an alternative) using Sonos as their having (after 8yrs) virtually written off my £1,800 system with their (unusable) system upgrade, I am unwilling to buy any of their products, Denon Heos possibly but never again Sonos. It would be nice to have the ability to play into other rooms but bluetooth headphones would (for now) be a good alternative. Before BD2 purchase your advice would be appreciated.

Hi,

I had a brief look at the spec for your Denon.

1. It supports a CD optical connection and unless you are already using it for another device you can connect a B2 using that
Your receiver will handle the 2 channel signal and route it your speakers
2. Bluetooth output does work but not for all devices. It would depend on the headphones/speaker you are trying to connect to.
You can connect a separate Bluetooth transmitter to the B2 which can help with connectivity and also Bluetooth range.
3. For rooms out of Bluetooth range a Heos compatible speaker would be an option as long as you have a wifi network with strong enough connectivity.

AFAIK, Heos uses a Denon proprietary WiFi protocol.  It could be that the Denon receiver can find the B2 as a music source via DLNA.  Then the Denon sends the music to any Heos peripheral.  Can anyone here verify that Denon can find the B2 via DLNA?

Hi Daniel,
When I looked at the spec it confirmed NAS but not DLNA

On the subject of streaming to other rooms does anyone know about the products made by Arylic  that would allow one to use the Brennan B2 as a NAS and then connect to it from another part of the house and act as a preamp to anther Stereo system, or you can get boards from them with built in amplifier and connect speakers. They have an app for Iphones and tablets not sure how compares--

Thanks, John.  That's good to know about Denon using NAS.

Hello Len,
I am a Denon AVR owner and use Heos speakers throughout my home.
I have the Brennan B2 on the same wired network. The B2 is set for DLNA and NAS. I use the Brennan in my office and the AVR I'd in my living room home theater. All the HEOS speakers are wireless to the same wired network. I use them grouped and un-grouped in various ways. The AVR and HEOS app can see and play music from the B2 through the App's selection of the Music server which is the B2's IP address it finds.
It all works wonderfully but I did have to make sure that the network was accessible to all the devices on it and that their were no subnets and anything preventing the devices not seeing one another. .
Hope this helps. I am happy to provide further insite if you need it
Best regards
Thomas

As a note: By App I mean the HEOS App and/or Denon App. I use that to have the Denon or HEOS devices to select the Music Server (the B2) to play from.
