Offline database questions

I appear to have successfully downloaded the artist/title offline database recently (it immediately found an album dated well after I bought the B2) and have a few questions about the file and process.

What date is the file up to? The link doesn't say. Does the update just add to the default file or replace it? The B2 complained when downloading about the size of the file. Does this reduce the number of albums that can be downloaded? if so, by how much?

PS, I'm very impressed with the number of specialist artists it finds, some are from very small labels etc, so pat on the back!

The CDDB download version is updated on a monthly basis.
