When listening in my home location, Brennan showed up quickly on my Spotify phone app.  I am in a different location for a few days, and my Iphone Sptify app is NOT finding the Brennan.  The WebUI works fine as well as other functions.  Any ideas?

This may seem like a silly question but, is your B2 still at home, or did you bring it with you.  The B2 and the phone have to be on the same local network.  If the B2 is with you, did you connect it to the WiFi at the new location?  The B2 can connect to more than one SSID, so that it can switch back and forth when relocated.

I just heard from Todd privately, and it looks like he has it working.

Weird..this afternoon I can no longer get Brennan to appear on my Spotify devices list.  My B2 is on 192.168.1.174.  My Iphone is supposedly connected to the same Verizon network .  But no Brennan appears.  What gives?

Hi Tod

I am not sure if I understand your question but I think, from reading your thread that

1) your B2 is at home (IP  192.168.1.174).
2) that you are trying to reach it using the Spotify App on your iPhone which is connected to a Verizone network.

First is your Verizone network to which the IPhone is connected the SAME network as the B2 is connected to. (It would help if you could provide the IP number that your iPhone thinks it has).

If the above is not the case then, Unless you have done some VERY VERY smart configuring to your home Router (the one the B2 is connected to), you will be unable to see or connect to your B2. In other words if your iPhone is connected up
to ANYTHING but your house router you can not access the B2 and this is normal.

The normal situation is that the B2 is connected to your house network which is a LAN (Local Area Network). Things in side the LAN can see and talk to each other and reach out through the router to things on the internet.
However if you connect to the internet via your ISP or joining any other WiFi, you are OUTSIDE the LAN and nothing from the outside can proactively see into a LAN.

Hope this helps

Fred
