Ok Brennan,

I'm not a particularly "tech" oriented consumer, but I know enough that if I can't make something work, and I've spent $$ on a product, that that product is borderline DEFECTIVE since I'm sharper than the "average consumer" when it comes to figuring out how basic tech devices should work.

I purchased the Brennan about 6 months ago from Amazon.  I wanted it because it advertises itself as a high quality, virtually lossless method of storing ALL of my purchased CDs on it  and THEN I WOULD BE ABLE TO CREATE PLAYLISTS THAT MIXED AND MATCHED MY CDS CONTENT.  Is that hard to understand???  I believe MOST consumers of my "ilk" bought the damn thing in order to do this...otherwise, the product is a "paperweight" sitting on my entertainment center...I have a CD player already.

The problem is that the device/Brennan DOESN'T ALLOW ME TO PLAY THE MATERIAL CONTINUOUSLY.  Meaning I can't play more than ONE SONG after I download/rip the CD into the Brennan.  I also cannot make playlists out of the material after I've imported/ripped my CDs...I have to play ONE SONG AT A TIME and then the Brennan stops playing...so if I want to continue to hear the ripped album...I have to manually click on the next song...I become a DJ at that point.

This problem I've had makes the Brennan an overpriced hard drive with shitty software...

There HAS TO BE A SIMPLE FIX to this.  I am on a Mac/Apple system...mostly I try and play the Brennan from the software for my laptopMacbook.

C'mon Brennan...I've lost my patience with this device.  I can't be the only one that is having this ridiculous problem.  Fix it so that the product does the most basic task that it claims to do!

The B2 does have the capability to play a playlist continuously, without stopping after each song.  If yours doesn't do that, then there is a problem.  You started another thread on this, and there were several people who posted there to try and find out more details so they could offer help.  You did not respond.  There are kind and extremely helpful people here who volunteer their time to try and help with problems such as this.  If you are willing to work with us, it is possible we can help you get your unit working.

It was suggested that what you wanted was to be able to add songs to a playlist on the fly, as it was playing (please refer back to Peter's post in the original thread).  I don't read that into your description, but it would be helpful if you could clarify.

I have not heard of this problem before.  My own guess is that the software on your SD card, or the card itself, has become corrupted and needs to be re-flashed - or a new one ordered.  Before doing that, you may want to see what others suggest.

Hi Wilson
I have seen you post about problems but never any indication you have actually taken on board the suggestions for help that have been offered.
Have you actually run a scan disk as recommended ?
The B2 does play  through a ripped CD one track after another. I’m doing it right now
As Daniel says, work with us and we can help but if you’ve decided the B2 is not for you the that’s fine too
If you respond positively to the questions that have been asked of you on the other thread you started then we can get to the bottom of what is going wrong.
Thanks

John

I read the post by Wilson and the replies by Daniel and John, I'm going to be honest and say that the tone of Wilson's post really grates and I for one don't feel any inclination to dive in with help/advice.
This doesn't feel like someone who will work with the guys on the forum to resolve a "problem".
My only suggestion is to save stress on yourself and post it on Ebay.

Last time I checked there’s a 12 month manufacturer warranty including Amazon purchases so it seems there are two options:
1. the product is fine but there’s a misunderstanding over correct operation - which this forum can help sort if the owner is happy to engage with other users
2. the product is faulty - in which case Brennan can help sort if the owner is happy to engage with Brennan
Cheers
Jim

I'm trying to avoid a confrontational attitude.  I can understand when someone pays a significant amount of money for a piece of equipment that seems flakey.  The more technically aware one is, the more they are able to deal with normal things.  This situation seems abnormal, and I think it's worthy of investigation.  Personally, I'm curious about what the solution is.

Hi Wilson,

Please try these -

Check that Classical mode is off - Settings menu.
Run Scan Disk - Settings menu - and check your Playlist again.
After running Scan Disk create a new short Playlist (don't have the B2 playing when adding to the Playlist) and check if it plays as expected.

And please let us know what you have tried and the result.
