Does anybody else have connection problems using the Android app? Although I always make a connection eventually, I often find that if music has been playing for a while without using the interface, the app seems to lose the connection and cannot reconnect. Even rebooting the B2 doesn't seem to do the trick. What I often see is the home page but with the options across the top of the screen replaced by X's in boxes. Any tips on how to overcome this would be appreciated.

Hi Anthony, my app works really well and doesn't suffer the problems you are experiencing.

The only time I have something similar is if I venture into the garden, my phone switches to 4g. If I view the app then it has similar X's to yours.

This to me would indicate a loss of wifi connection at some point on the phone and the app cannot connect to the b2 server.

Regards
Mike

Hi Anthony,

As a test, try opening the web UI via a browser page - open Chrome, Safari, etc on your phone and enter the IP Address from the B2 - rather than via the app and see if you have the same problems.

Thanks for the response Paul.

I have tried via the browser and the response I get is that the IP address is unavailable. I think the problem is probably with the router, but that seems to be working perfectly in every other regard so I'm at a loss as to what adjustments I could make to try and put this right.

Any further thoughts?

Hi Anthony,

It sounds like your router has changed the IP address (IP addresses are controlled and managed by the router).  If you look at the front display on the B2, you should see the IP address scrolling up.

Then use that IP address in your phone's WebUI browser to access the B2.

If you can log into the router, then look at the details of the IP address that the B2 shows, there should be an option to 'always use this IP address for this device' (or some similar wording).  Ticking that box will prevent the router from changing the IP address.

Regards,
Peter.

I set up a reply on my phone and pressed send, but it has not appeared.

If you open the Brennan app on your Android device and it does not connect, the solution is brilliant, but it took me a while to work it out.

1) Just sit and watch the device.
2) After a few seconds, the little green circle pops up at the bottom (right) of the screen.
3) Tap on it and the top item on the little menu that appears is the link to your Brennan. (In other words, it has looked on your wi-fi network and found it for you.)
4) Tap on that link and the app should make the connection for you almost immediately.

Until I discovered this, I kept uninstalling and re-installing the app, but now I don't need to.

Hope this works for you.

Hi Anthony,

Are you typing the IP Address into the address line on the browser, not the 'search box'?

Try clearing browser data on your device, open a new browser page and enter the IP Address (after checking it has not changed) in manually - don't click on the address that the device prompts you with as this may be an old address.
