I’ve now had my B2 for a few weeks and almost completely rebuilt my music library Now hosting 12000 tracks in 1100 albums all flac. It sounds wonderful. The thing that I’ve noticed is the battery on the remote has had a very short life. I only use it to trip the change for aux line in back to hard drive and to pause between tracks when I’m recording direct from vinyl. About 20 albums in total and the battery is dead.

Are there more elegant solutions to this that don’t require the remote or have I missed features in the web ui that would allow me to accomplish the same thing.

Thanks to all of you for keeping me informed.

Hi Ted,

I think that you have either a bad battery or a faulty remote.  Has this happened with more than one battery?  If so, it is likely that the remote is at fault.

To give you an idea of battery life, I have had my B2 for about 4 years, and the first battery lasted for about 3 years.

Regards,
Peter.

Thank you Peter,

I thought it strange that it only lasted a couple of weeks because similar batteries in my guitar tuners etc last years. I’ve only just acquired my unit in May so it may be a faulty battery. Thanks for the input.

Hi Ted,

If the remote proves to be faulty please let us know and we will arrange a replacement.

Recording is only available via the remote (as far as I know).

Hello Paul,

So I’ve now had the unit for about a month and a half and I’m into my 4th battery for the remote. The odd thing is the remote works perfectly when I change the battery but it seems the remote must always be on because I hadn’t touched it for a week and it was dead when I came back.

It there any diagnostics I can perform which would indicate its power usage while it’s inactive

Hi Ted,

It does sound like a faulty remote controller. Please email us on -   thebrennanb2   ' gmail   .   com   - no spaces, requesting a replacement remote (with a brief explanation of the problem).
