I bought a BB1 with the hope that i could retire my ipod and use the BB1 in my 2015 Tesla Model S. Come to find out that a direct usb to usb does not work. The car doesn't even see the device as connected. Tried to go Bluetooth and that did not work either. It paired but the only function available from the touchscreen in the car is back and forward. The BB1 was also utilizing its own speaker not car's system. Any suggestions?

Hi EOB,

There is a 'Bluetooth out' option in the BB1's Main menu. Try selecting that after pairing the BB1 to the car.

I did not see that menu item until after upgrading the bb1 and upgrading the bluetooth. Once I completed the upgrades I reset the bluetooth and then made sure Bluetooth Out was enabled. I had to pair the Tesla and the BB1 again. The car paired successfully. However, my situation has not changed. No Sound in the car. I can still switch back and forth between songs, nothing else. The Tesla should be able to see artists and songs as it does with my Samsung phone, but the BB1 shows nothing on the Tesla's touchscreen except play, forward, and back buttons. This device has no other purpose for us other than our car. I need a solution for the BB1 or it will become an expensive dust collector.

I had the thought of connecting my BB1 to my Car System last week, so your issue has prompted me to try. I have a Nissan. On Monday whilst I was waiting at the hospital I tried. It took me several attempts to connect by Bluetooth but managed eventually. I did have a repetitive problem that my audio system kept turning off and losing the Bluetooth connection to my BB1.

I did not have anything on my car audio except the Bluetooth link showing the BB1. I had to play my music by selecting the album on BB1 and pressing play. Volume however was controlled by my car audio not the BB1 (that’s normal for the BB1 using Bluetooth).

At that point I ran out of time. I will try it again another day.

As per the author’s suggestions, I will try further and also try a cable connection to simulate an iPod.

Perhaps another member of the group can help and if there was a way to emulate the Samsung, then great.

Regards

Ian

Hi EOB,

Once paired with the Tesla go to the Main menu on the BB1 and select Bluetooth out - it should show the Tesla as a destination device - and select it from the list to play to it.

HI ElevenOffBeat,
I have a Toyota and all I need to do is plug in a USB stick with my music on, no player required. I mention this because the Toyota information doesn't imply you can do this, you are led to believe you need to connect a music player. It would also be safer than leaving your BB1 in the car. It's worth a try.
