I want to connect our Amazon Alexa Echo to the B2. This is to allow music from Amazon to play through a good set of stereo speakers. I can pair the B2 successfully via Bluetooth to the Echo using the controls on the Brennan. If I tell Alexa to connect to the Brennan it will do so and play Amazon music through the B2/stereo.

If I wait for a while, or play music from the B2 HD, the Echo will no longer connect to the B2 (unknown device message), although checking the Brennan Web UI shows it as still pared. The only way to reconnect is to go through the Bluetooth pairing procedue again on the B2 and then immediately telling Alexa to connect.

Having to re-pair from the B2 each time is a nuisance. I tried to initiate the pairing from the Echo using the Alexa app but it does not find the Brennan as a BT device. Is there an Alexa skill? I do not see one listed. Any ideas?

Hi Joel,

Once devices are paired I find if I start playing from my iPhone (for example) the B2 automatically switches to Bluetooth mode and plays. So maybe try asking the Alexa to play to the B2....

I have tried asking Alexa to connect to Brennan B2 or play to Brennan B2. Response is “I don’t know that”. It will only connect if I go through the pairing every time using the controls on the Brennan although The Brennan Web UI shows it paired but the Echo doesn’t seem to recognise this

Hi Joel,

It's not something I've done but Martin says you have to use the Alexa app to set up the Bluetooth connection to the B2. Please search the Forum for Alexa or see our home page on our website.
