Hi everyone
In the Web UI, under 'search' in the second column (with the disc symbol) I get a lot (could be 30 or 40) empty items - see attached screenshot. If I scroll down sufficiently then I do see albums, but I'm worried that they aren't all there. It is the second this has happened. Also, in the first 'Artist' column I can only see a fraction of the items I know are on the Hard Drive (of which I hope are still in the hard drive. It is the second this has happened. Has anyone had a similar experience? Anyone know how to solve this? Thanks in advance for any help.

First of all, go to your B2 and using the front controls (screen and round knob) select "Main Menu > Settings >  Scan Disk".
After the Scan Disk Finishes, press and hold in the Play/Stop button until "saving" appears on the front screen. Once the clock time re-appears, reboot the B2

Nor go back into your Web UI - I expect the problem may now have gone

After you do what Fred recommends, you might have to press Refresh on your browser (F5).

That worked. Thanks very much for prompt replies! Any idea why this happens, or what I can do to prevent it?

Sometimes the B2 gets out of sync with what's actually on the HDD.  The Scan Disk command causes it to go out and read the hard disk and rebuild the B2's internal listing of what's there.  Probably nothing you can do to prevent it.  It's good to keep that command in mind for when things start to look a bit strange.

Hi All,

The most common way of causing this problem is to just switch the B2 off without going through the proper power down procedure, which is to press and hold the 'Play/Stop' button (for a second or two) until the 'Saving' message is displayed in the front panel display.

This causes the B2's internal database management file (named 'b2db' to be written from the B2's  memory to the HDD.

So, in my view, this issue does not 'just happen' in most events; it is down to careless or improper power downs.  I have had a few situations where the Brennan has frozen,; in five years of using B2s and BB1s, I have had probably five freezes but only two of those have required a 'Scan Disk' to fix the problem.

Regards,
Peter.
