I realize that a Chrome Book is intended primarily for online access, but as such, I would think it would still work the same as any other computer for accessing an IP address such as the B2's WebUI.

Hi Bob,

The browser access to the B2, as Daniel has stated, should be fine.  If you are planning to use NAS access, then that would need to be checked out.

Regards,
Peter.

Currently I have a desktop running Windows 10 and I have an old version of Microsoft Office (2013 version on the desktop, not the internet version)  with a Router for internet access.  On the desktop I have an external hard drive for back up.  The B2 is hardwired into the router.  I am just starting the ripping process of my roughly 800 CDs.  I am using an external CD ripper hooked to the B2 via USBA.  I am trying to decide between a Chromebook, tablet or laptop, the main purpose of which would be to act as a remote for the B2 UI.  I think a smart phone's screen is too small to access the UI.
I had previously started an excel spread sheet on my desktop to keep an inventory of my CDs.  I would like something I could use to hold that excel spreadsheet, or another spreadsheet program that I can transfer that data to.  It would be nice to be able to continue to build the inventory on this spreadsheet while I am ripping the CD's.  I don't now how to transfer the data to the new Chromebook, Laptop or?? since I am not using an internet based program on the desktop, but in a pinch I could walk over to the desktop and do it there, however it would be better to be able to do this on the new device..

I've just started researching Chromebooks and for the remote process it would be nice if it, or whatever new device I end up with, had a touch screen so I could either detach the keyboard or fold it behind the screen for something that is smaller and easier to handle.
I hope this is clear and would appreciate your suggestions.
PS: after all the ripping is complete, I will transfer/backup all the B2 stored files onto a new external hard drive.

Chromebook user here, replying to an old thread I know, but NAS works great on CB's - SMB share is right there in the file manager. It even works with android apps running on chromeos - notably Total Commander.
