My BB1 had a melt down yesterday when updating the radio stations in the OS upgrade

Yesterday I upgraded the OS via wifi to resolve the radio not picking up the previously working channels.

Then it hiccuped and left me with just the illuminated Brennan screen. Oh poop I thought (not really). So I looked on the net and the Brennan group I had (it may be this one and may not be) for inspiration; and came with the idea I needed to replace the Micro SD. I am no computer or IT whizz. It looked daunting 

but

New SanDisk Micro SD arrived today. The things Id read said to use etcher on the disc then drop on the downloaded OS (btubev8.tar)

but I cannot get Etcher for Mac OS. Or else I am looking in the wrong place or I am doing something wrong. 

I presume the info I had read was correct but...... 

The old microSD is out of the unit - can I just put the new one (untouched )in the slot and the device will sort itself out or do I need to do something else - the internet has all these fancy AI derived steps but there seems to be some foundation needed.

So here I am - please help.
