I inserted a CD in my brand new B2, and the unit does not appear to recognize that CD is in. I can not eject either, as it says there is no CD in the untit-it just says No CD!. None of the CD functions work, as it 'appears empty'
This is a brand new unit, and I successfully hooked it up to my wifi. The unit otherwise works well-I played internet radio, and youtube.
This was the first CD that I attempted to rip and so there is nothing stored on the hard drive yet.

Help! I really want to get this up and running, as I can see how useful it will be.
Should I return the unit?
Thanks Kat

DAY 2

I switched it on again, this morning, and the CD ejected immediately, automatically. Though I switched it off and on/rebooted yesterday, I could not get the unit to recognize the CD.

Is there some date stamped extra maintenance that the Brennan 2 does, each time it reboots?
Puzzling. Hopefully others who have this problem can just try this.

FYI I did try pressing eject/switching on and off, with the unit vertical as others have suggested, rebooting, several times, but this did not work. Bizarrely, the next day it simply spat out the CD.

Suggestion: could the software be modified so that a CD can be ejected/found even if it can not be read? Is there a way of the unit detecting that something is physically there, even if CD is for whatever reason unreadable? I re-tested the offending CD on my usual CD player and it does play. I am wary of re-inserting this though in the B2.

Hi KAT, if your unit is brand new everything is surely under warranty. You need to know if is a one off glitch. If it happens again then there is something definitely wrong and you will need to contact Brennan. Paul or Martin may come up with another suggestion, but they might just suggest the same thing. You can bypass the CD player ripping on your laptop and transferring in NAS mode, but this is a new machine and you shouldn't have to. I'd give it ago again, and see what happens. If it does, then needs to be repaired or replaced. returns and repairs - use the forum for technical questions -

Hi Kat,

Good suggestion from Leslie. Let us know how it goes.

I have replied to you via email suggesting we replace the unit for you.
