And I am still very happy. Nearly 9000 tracks and 250GB loaded. The track number is misleading because half of those are classical and every work is one track. I laughed when somebody make a comment about "How long can a track be?" because my Bach B-Minor Mass is an hour and 48 minutes :)  500MB FLAC and no problems. St Matthew Passion to come (150 minutes)

Since every day seems to be Festivus here I do have the odd complaint. The B2 is playing something Mozart-ish but the front panel and the Web UI is insisting it is Sarah McLachlan. She is way more versatile than I remembered :)  Choose the playlist again and everything is hunky-dory.

Since forums like this are mostly for problems I think it is important to let people know that for many, things run smoothly. Nobody calls Customer Service and says "Things are going great" (as one who was once on the end of those calls in the IT world)

Two things that have made life better is the addition of an ethernet pigtail so I am not relying on WiFi and a USB pigtail so I don't have to fumble at the back to plug/unplug my backup drive.

Hi fwal,

The wrong title thing - does it only happen when you play something Mozart-ish from a Playlist - doe sit display correctly when played from the Artist-Album list?

I think I have the sequence down. I am playing a playlist (with the Mozart-ish music). Then I hit play/stop, copy a bunch of files using the NAS and when done do a scan disk. When I do "Scan Disk" the display and UI switch the to Sarah McLachlan track (always the same one). When I hit play/stop to restart the music, it picks up where it left off with the Mozart and the web UI and still show Sarah. I had thought that it continued on playing random tracks (that is, if no playlist was active) but my attempts this morning show it going on with the playlist and the displays are correct. On on a scale of 1 to 10 for problems this is about a .5 -- if it regularly continued on with random track then maybe it rises to a 1

I have noticed something else - some albums are showing ._ tracks in the far right track window. The real tracks show correctly afterwards (which makes sense). I think I remember reading that these "shadow files" can be caused by doing renames and such but these are albums that I've not renamed but so far they seem to be ones I copied into the B2 via the NAS. The "Scan Disk" doesn't remove them and if I play the album you can see the Web UI trying each shadow (eg, ._01, ._02, etc)  then moving on and eventually getting to the real tracks. Again not a real problem but curious.

Thanks,
The new Fred W

Do you have an Apple computer? (e.g., a Mac)
When a Mac copies files to a non-Apple filesystem, it separates the resource fork from the data fork and puts the resource fork into a file that has the same name as the original file but starts with ._

You won't see these "extra" files from the Mac because it knows what to do with them. What you should do with them is delete them. I believe there's a "clean up" function on one of the menus that can do that for you -- look around.

Yes, I have a Mac -- I will look for the cleanup, or just delete them. Thx.

Hi Fred,

The 'cleanup' option is found in 'Main' --> 'Settings' --> Maintenance' --> 'Cleanup'  and then run 'Scan Disk' after this.

Regards,
Peter.
