Never come across a combined Aux/Optical connector before and don't wish to use Bluetooth.  I would much prefer some standard RCA connections but in their absence does the avaialble connecctor work OK?   My HiFi doesn't have optical so I'd be stuck with the Aux connector.

Hi Andrew

My HiFi doesn't have Optical either. What I did (which works very well) is to purchase an inexpensive external DAC like this (although some on this Forum have purchased more up market versions). Note, the DAC does provide you with RCA sockets.
You also need a special optical cable like this, (which I think you can get from Brennan too).

I found that this was MUCH better than using the Aux out method to drive my HiFi.

...and the DAC comes with an optical cable, so you'd only need a tiny adaptor to clip on the B2 end (toslink to mini toslink).

Or, just get a 3.5mm plug to RCA lead, for a couple of quid off E bay
