Hi,
I am not very schooled on B2 technology. I am becoming leery when reading some of the problems users are having.

Question: All I want is to load 500 CD's into the B2 and play them. All of the tech issues quite frankly are giving me 2nd thoughts.
Is the B2 right for me or is there another similar device which doesn't have such a steep learning curve.  Please Advise this 70yr old audio file.
Thanks!

Hi Ed,
One thing that's hard to keep in mind when reading this forum is that only the people with problems are posting.  We understand that there are far more satisfied customers who are not having these problems.  One thing is for certain, there are a bunch of us here who are ready to help with any problems you may encounter, in any way we can.  Even among the people who've encountered a problem or two, once the problem has been dispatched, things usually go fine after that.

The following is my own point of view.  The two problems I see reported most often are concerned with reading CDs, and with WiFi signal strength.  I avoid the former by doing all my ripping on my computer with dBpoweramp CD Ripper.  It can rip directly to FLAC (as well as MP3, etc) and I can do my editing ahead of time to correct mistakes and spelling, etc.  Plus, I can do that while I'm listening to something on my B2 - we advise against doing two things at once on the B2.  As for WiFi signal strength, there are things that can be done for that, or there is the option to connect directly to the router via ethernet cable.

Hi Ed
,
Don’t be perturbed. The B2 is a very good piece of kit and straightforward to use.
One of its strengths and therefore potential weaknesses is its rich functionality and flexibility.
There are many battle hardened users on this forum who have seen pretty much everything B2 if you need help.
If you can share more about what you are looking for in terms of functionality and what , if anything, you want to integrate/connect a B2 with then I am sure you will get plenty of advice :)

Hello Ed,
I've got you beat in years; I'm 72 and have collected vinyl since I was a kid, when CDs came out and tiny ear buds I was amazed at the quality and number of tracks packed into that Compact Disk. Then came the record changer, then the CD changer... the B2 is by far the best I have ever seen or owned!
My stereo equipment is over 50 years old and the B2 plays through it just fine, the sound from their own speakers (BSP50) is great, the sound through my big system is even better.
As John said the "problems" are posted here, if you find my last problem I finalized it with "UPDATE" to let everyone know what worked. I have been on a lot of Q&A and forums like this, very few answer any questions, this one solves problems so you will be in good hands here.

Hi, Ed,
I’ve had my B2 for a few years now. It has been wonderful for me. I had no difficulty setting it up, ripping my collection, which wasn’t very much larger than yours then, and playing. It’s so easy now with the Web interface to choose and play.
I had a small query which is why I joined the forum. I stayed because I’m fascinated by the expertise of some here. I’ve learnt how to set up my PC as NAS, and do some things because of that, like listening to my music anywhere in the house on my tablets using VLC, and uploading music bought from Amazon.. I’ve connected  Sonos speakers too. I asked a couple of questions here, but nothing that was a huge problem. I think many of the problems here are to do with the wifi signal not being so good, (though mine at first wasn’t quite as good as it’s recommended and I was fine).
BUT mainly I rip on the B2, and listen on its speakers. If you want to do nothing more complicated than that you should be absolutely fine.
