Track Numbers and new version

Hello, 

Is there a good reason why the track number is not shown when the track is playing ? 

I like the v3 version but I cannot see all the different artists.

Hi Francesc,

Displaying track numbers is down to CDDB - some have track numbers, others don't. In this case it is fairly straight forward (click on the track title - Album panel - to open the rename panel) to add them.

Hi Paul, I think Francesc is possibly referring to the fact that in the Tracks window the numbers show, but in the now playing window there is just the track title without the number. I also would like the track number showing in the now playing window on all of the different UIs. It lets you know where you are in an album quickly. Or even something like when CD ripping ie. 7/11 which lets you know the track number and also the number of tracks on the album.

I have started editing tracks with a hyphen followed by a space in any new additions to my collection, and this allows the track number to show in the now playing window (see screenshots), but this would be a very long process to carry out for my whole collection. Maybe a software tweak?

Thanks Leslie for the translation from Francesc to English. That's what I meant from the beginning or tried to.

It must be done in purpose because they go through the trouble of removing the numbers, since the file name has them already.

Francesc, I'm using a Windows 10 laptop with Chrome browser. If I use the v3 UI I can see all the artists by hovering the cursor over the row of album images and scrolling down through them. Each artist has an album cover assigned to them. Then click on the image and the artist and their albums should load up below the row of cover images. The 1st albums and it's tracks are shown to the right. If I click on an album from the list on the left, it is shown on the right with it's tracks.

What set are you using?

That would be great, thanks Paul.  It might already be there, I was keen to see this a year or so ago and asked to add it to this wish list.  On the whole if the CDDB recognises an album you do not get the track number as part of the name of the track.  I believe the actual B2 unit shows the track number playing but not the UI.
