I have just received my new B2 and got it configured and on the internet (I think). It is certainly on the wireless network at home as I can access it via a web browser on my PC. However despite loading the latest mydb from the website it has not recognised any of the CD’s I have placed in it and come up with some random names.  This somewhat defeats the purpose of having it and I wondered if I have to do something else to check that it is seeing the internet and the music database so that CD’s are identified.

Hi Owen,

The B2 needs to be connected to the internet so it can use the on-line CD database from MusicBrainz. It sounds like you have the B2 connected to WiFi as you can use the web UI. Try 'Check Internet' from the Maintenance menu (it checks if the B2 can see Google.com) which should report 'OK'.

Often more than one title is found for a given CD and the first one displayed may not be the correct one. In this case try turning the front control to see if any other titles are offered.

Thanks Paul. As far as I can see from the test it is seeing the internet from your check. I had tried the spinning the dial option intially and the suggestions were far from the truth. I am downloading the mydb via the maintenance menu and will see if that improves matters. I did note someone else is having similar issues and wonder if the MusicBrainz server may be having issues.

Hi Owen,

Have a look on the www.musicbrainz.org site to see if those particular CDs are listed.
